5 Pet Related Businesses You Can Start From Home

Recently I have been thinking about what types of pet related businesses you could easily start from home. I came across several options and have narrowed it down to these five businesses. Keep in mind this is a short list and with a little creativity you could come up with more great ideas on your own.

Therefore, without further delay here are the five pet related businesses I think would be easy for anyone to start from home. These are not in any particular order.

1. A Pooper Scooper Service

This one is pretty straightforward. Cleaning up the dog poop from a client's yards. You could easily start a pooper service by offering services to your own neighborhood. Do a simple door-to-door flyer campaign or advertise on Craiglist.

Keep in mind if you plan to do this you will need to properly dispose of the poop, but if working outside is something you love there is good money to be made in this business. You could also be offer this service along with lawn care. You will need a truck, and possibly a trailer if you decided to go that route.

2. A Dog Walking Service

One of the easiest businesses to start. This business has little to no overhead and could be a great way to make money while staying in shape. Once again you could start with flyers in your own neighborhood. Once you build up a good clientele you could be making a nice little income. However, you will have to deal with the seasonal elements, but if being outdoors is your thing then you should give it a shot.

3. Pet Sitting

This business also has little to no overhead and you do not have to work outside in the elements. You could start by advertising on Craigslist. Although, it might be hard to get clientele at first. Most people do not usually trust their beloved pets to strangers, but if you get a few good clients then they may be willing to give you recommendations. Word of mouth will be your best form of advertising with this type of business.

4. Design You Own Pet Product Line

Creating your own product line for pets may require a little investment to get started, but your profit potential on a business like this is huge. With some research and a few supplies, you could make all natural pet shampoos, conditioners, colognes, breath fresheners, flea sprays and more. You could market your items thru your own website, or with local groomers, vets and pet shops. You could also attend trade shows and fairs with your product line. People really love all natural homemade products and this is a great business to get into.

5. Making Gourmet Dog Treats

Just like creating your own product line, you could bake up some tasty dog treats. If you like baking this could be just for you. You could market the same ways as I mention with a product line. Once established you could even open a pet treat bakery.

Whatever pet related business you decide on you should thoroughly research first. As I mentioned this are just a few ideas for easy business opportunities there are many more.
